The Newark Think Tank on Poverty (NTTP) was founded in 2014. It is made up of community members in Newark and Licking County, Ohio, who have experienced barriers in obtaining work that provides a livable wage, safe housing, affordable healthcare, and accessible transportation.

We are building a movement to fight for justice on critical issues that have impacted our lives. We deeply care for our community, believe all should be treated fairly, and have the ability to live with dignity. We welcome allies from the broader community to join us in our efforts.

Watch our documentary Up River to learn more about our organization, and feel free to join us at an upcoming meeting.

Town Hall Meeting: Addiction and Recovery
    Thursday, June 07, 2018 at 06:30 PM
    Newark High School

Heroin and meth addiction are ravaging Licking County with overdose deaths, crime, broken families and lost productivity.

Experts say current treatment resources can only serve 30-40% of the need, at best. In many cases treatment resources are impossible to get. New federal and state rules may make the situation even worse.

Join us on June 7th to learn about the local resources we have, what more we need to help those who desire recovery, and what steps we need to take to end this epidemic.
