The Newark Think Tank on Poverty (NTTP) was founded in 2014. It is made up of local community members in Newark and Licking County, Ohio who have experienced barriers in obtaining sustainable work, safe housing and accessible transportation.

We deeply care for our community and believe all should be treated fairly and have the ability to live with dignity. We are building a movement to fight for justice on critical issues that have impacted our lives.

Members of the Newark Think Tank on Poverty are committed to walking with one another on this journey. We also welcome allies from the broader community to join us in our efforts.

    Strong Voices Rising Meeting
    Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 06:00 PM · 1 rsvp

"Judge Jennifer Brunner, Ohio appeals court judge and former Ohio Secretary of State, has graciously agreed to speak to SVR about the state of elections in Ohio. She's going to address three questions:

    1. What are the ways in which people can be disenfranchised in Ohio, and what can we do to protect voting rights on a local and state level?

    2. How can we address gerrymandering on a state level?

    3. What can we do on a local level to protect the integrity of elections?

We will combine Judge Brunner's talk with our next big SVR meeting. The first hour will be devoted to the talk, and during the second hour, we will break out into our SVR issues groups."
